National Day Parade 2014 recap!

It was a wonderful weekend and celebrating National Day made it an even awesome one!

Many of those who couldn't make it, like me, would have caught this much-anticipated event on TV.

I have been to several NDP previews before, but never the actual one. However, you can still feel the electrifying energy on site.

President Tony Tan Keng Yam officiating the parade.

Shortly after, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong gives the nod for the start of the Parade

I don't know about you, but the sight of the flypast always gives me the goosebumps. Me and my dad's generation might not have been through the tough years of nation building, but I always appreciate the fact that nothing comes easy. From a small fishing village to a relevant cosmopolitan city within 50 years is no small feat.

Set against this awesome urban backdrop, the view is simple breathtaking.

The paratroopers landing with ease, with red and white smoke trailing from their feet.

And the parade begins...

Woop Woop. Our very own Shigga Shay coming through on stage.

Just several years ago, nobody would have imagined hip hop being part of the parade. Fast forward to 2014, and he is rapping on the stage.

The much anticipated finale is coming to the climax when all the participating contingents are assembled on the floating platform.

15 minutes of awe-inspiring fireworks light up the Singapore skyline.

Happy National DAy Everyone!
