For those who have a generalized mindset about Singapore’s pathetic lifestyle, look up the relevant pop culture sites and magazines based in our beloved country, and take a shot what events are happening this year!
Lepark! Music in the Park
Lepak, a term used by most teens who just want to hang after a day in school, or chill by the benches for a smoke or two. Teens and their lingo, an endless string of fascinating slangs that leaves the older generation with a series of question marks lingering above our heads.
Anyway back to what I am suppose to tell you guys, Lepar(r)k is back this year! This outdoor indie music festival is back for a second show at the Promontory in Marina, now bigger and better! Its first inaugural debut was last November.
The line-up schedules are as follows:
Amnesia Haze - www.facebook.com/amnesiahazesg
Another Sunday Afternoon - www.facebook.com/anothersundayafternoon
Pleasantry - www.facebook.com/pleasantry
The Great Spy Experiment - www.facebook.com/thegreatspyexperiment
These exciting bands will be your LIVE entertainment throughout the event. There would be intermissions where DJ Doopz would take the stage to spin, with India dance, Electronica and Indie Rock favourites! This amazing line up promises a rocking night with original tracks and a whole lot of music! How about that? To throw in a better deal, attendance is free!
Gym Class Heroes LIVE in Singapore
I only became familiar with them after their collaboration with Maroon 5’s Adam Levine titled ‘Stereo Hearts’, which sold over 3 million copies. After which, they became my latest earworm. This American band seems to have the quirkiest song titles, with tracks such as their 2006 #1 hit ‘Cupid’s Chokehold’, their chart-topping hits like ‘Clothes’ Off!’ and ‘Cookie Jar’. Gym Class Heroes are known for their mash up of rock, R&B and funky melodies; hence their genre sums up to Alternative Hip-Hop, making them versatile musicians.
Gym Class Heroes were last seen performing as part of a festival line up right here on our shores. This will be the band's first full-fledged concert and are back, bigger than ever and ready to set the stage ablaze!
Get your tickets now and experience the Hip-Hop maestros live in a one-night only show!
This looks very artsy, in an enticing cultural perspective. Art junkies and those who appreciate good music (and food), here’s your event to attend!
